This Is Garswood United AFC
The Wooders has grown to become what we think of as one of the best non-league facilities around. What started as just a portacabin next to a pitch has been added to time and again to create facilities that the club and community can be proud of.
From a portacabin, it grew into a full clubhouse with great facilites; until in the summer of 2006 the club suffered a massive loss when the original clubhouse was burnt down. So, rather ironically, we were relegated back into a portacabin for most of the following season.
Thankfully, by the end of the 2006/07 season the new club house was complete and ready to embrace officials and away teams, once again in some of the best league facilities possible.
The clubhouse is at full strength with the full Wooders hospitality back in service
with
bigscreen sports, a function room and stage, a pool table,
toilets (male, female and disabled), and of course a bar. Parking is also
no issue as the club has its own private carpark.
Right outside the doors of the club is a small covered terrace looking out onto the pitch. The pitch was originally running parallel with the growing clubhouse, but was eventually turned so that one goalmouth had the clubhouse directly behind it, with the other goal in the distance. This made it possible for the addition of a small practice pitch behind the home dugout.
Other than the public side of the clubhouse there is the changing room facilities. When built they were the best of the best and are still highly rated. There are not many clubs of our kind that have there own pitch, nevermind their own facilities so we are very proud. With home, away and match official changing room, as well as a physiotherapy room we aim to make any player or official visiting us as welcome as possible.
